Professional Experience:

Private Practice
1977 - Ongoing

The bulk of our work has been representing injured people. We have represented many injured people in Worker’s Compensation cases, Social Security Disability cases, Personal Injury cases, Civil Rights Cases and ERISA cases in State and Federal courts.

A most recent Federal case was Mathis v. Larimer County Sheriff;s Department, et al. This was a civil rights case stemming from the death of Tim Mathis. Mathis was killed when he was shot seven times with TASER weapons by agents of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. The case was settled after summary judgment was denied. We believe that this was at the time the only case in which the child of an individual whose death was caused solely by TASER weapons was successful in obtaining monetary compensation in Colorado.

Associate with Law Firm of Leonard Chesler

We assisted the Chesler Law Firm in the preparation and trial of cases in the following areas: Criminal Defense, Claimant's Worker's Compensation , Social Security Disability and Personal Injury.

General Practice
1974 - 1975

During this time period I was successful in pursuing a class action, entitled Dean K. Phillips, et al. v. United States Department of Labor , et al. In that case, I represented Dean Phillips and other Vietnam veterans in a lawsuit against the Department of Labor of the United States and the Department of Labor for the State of Colorado. The veterans alleged that they had been denied bene fits to which they were entitled by Federal statute. The case was resolved in a settlement favorable to the veterans. Hundreds of Vietnam era veterans received assistance from the Colorado Department of Labor as a result of this case.
